background: cosette, most often referred to as coco or beelzebub, is a sensitive succubus avoided by other demons. due to her fearsome, mysterious powers, many other deemons live in fear of beelzebub, causing her a deep loneliness.
dating back to the 1800's, cosette évreux was born as the first daughter of the aristocratic évreux clan. with the duties of a noblewoman placed upon her, cosette was forced to mature prematurely, even entering an arranged marriage at fifteen. unable to bear the weight of her life any longer, cosette committed suicide, and was reborn as the demon succubus beelzebub: the demon of gluttony. due to cosette seeing her childhood as something she was robbed of, her incarnation has a young appearance.
for reasons unknown even to coco, when she experiences intense negative emotions, she has the ability to disembody anyone. this applies to even other immortals, making it so their soul permanently dies. in contrast to coco's innocent appearance, her power is violent and crude.
abandoned and alone even in death, coco begins to wonder if her power can destroy her own soul and set her free. it is then she's approached by another demon by the name of oleander, the first of her kind to be unafraid of her. oleander later becomes her protector and lover.
